it's from 2:30-5pm on Thursdays. Also, Fairmont Christian Church has a group which meets on Mondays. Corky can provide more info
about that group.
Other meeting places of other sit 'n knit groups:
- Center of the Universe Brewery, 1st Sunday of every month;
- A brewery, Origin Beer Lab, behind Office Max on Rte 1, Ashland, 106 S Railroad Ave, Ashland, VA 23005
- Mechanicsville's Rutland Kroger, Rte 301, Behind Starbuck's 6-8p.m. every Sunday

Show 'n Tell:
- Useful tip, from Corky: to determine if a scarf's length is long enough, hang it around your neck, centered, when both ends meet the
fingertips of each hand, it's long enough!
- Martha showed us a beautiful Williamsburg blue baby set by Sirdar. The ensemble includes a sweater, 2 hats, booties, and mittens.
Why 2 hats? because when the child has outgrown the garments, they can be reassembled into a teddy bear!!! So clever! It takes 2 balls of
Sirdar Snuggle Spots. She modeled a beautiful sage colored pullover called "Lichen" by Dan Doh. See it on Ravelry, $7.
- Deb T's Building with Lace shawl as well as another project are in "time out" due to misbehavior on the needles!
Been there, done that! Sigh!
- Suzanne is making a V-necked poncho in a color that is a cross of pumpkin and rust. Perfect now that fall seems to have finally arrived!
She also has a summer shawl project involving "smocked"lace. It's a combination Shawl/shrug garment by Churchmouse Classics. She's
using a linen and a cotton blend yarn with sparkle called: "Selena".
- Elaine B has finished another panel of the Building with Lace Shawl, just more to go then the edges! Her Irish knit sweater is in "time out"!
- Brenda also has projects in "time out", but has finished some washcloths for charity for the Caring Hearts & Hands project at her church.
- Becky M. ["new" Becky] has just gotten to the right length the black scarf she's making for her son's girlfriend. She's also working on an
afghan for a nephew.
- Corky has finished an amazing snowman afghan for her grandson. This project had a tough learning curve involving intarsia, a technique
that Corky says she won't be trying again! What an awesome accomplishment! See photo below.
- Lydia made a sweet baby hat using variegated tan, turquoise, and cream colors. Of course, our creative Lydia added her own touch by
having the crown done in the solid of turquoise and the brim done in zigzag design with cream on the tan. Lovely! The hat accompanies
the baby blanket she showed us last meeting.
- Maria N. has found another very cool project. The Zephyr Cardigan by Shellie Anderson, for purchase on Ravelry. Maria is making hers in a
heathery combo of grey and plum Shibui yarn. Delicious!
