Show 'n Tell:
Andrée modeled her gorgeous, cotton, multi-colored entrelac scarf. She also made hats, in school colors, for some Relay for Life participants.
Elaine K. finished her lovely pink baby blanket.
New Deb had an assortment of items to show; a crocheted basket and kids felt Christmas stockings included.
Corky has finished some kits from the Knitting B, a large pink and brown Hitchhiker scarf and a smaller in blues and greens.
Katia made a cute felted bunny from knit squares. Unfortunately, she didn't bring it for 'show,' just 'tell'.
Elaine B. has been plugging away on a donation afghan with squares of light blue and mint green alternating with white.
Gail was in mid project: a kit from our favorite shop, Knitting B. When finished she'll have a wonderful cowl to add to her cool weather wardrobe. She also demonstrated a very clever new stitch counter, the Sirka, that can keep track of several data all at the same time. This item is available at the Knitting B.
Jennifer, who first arrived to our group at the March meeting described her current projects and now knows we like to show off our projects. We look forward to seeing what she brings next time.
Suzanne T. modeled a beautifully done coral shrug fastened with a lovely, stick-style shawl pin. She told us where she got it, but I can't read my own notes, so, sorry, catch up with her for that info.
Mary has a lovely green cowl under construction.
Donnie made a cowl using brioche stitching, in muted shades of gray, brown, gold, and blue.
Program: Exploring Ravelry with Suzanne K.
Using her laptop and the Rescue Squad tech equipment, Suzanne took us to the Ravelry homepage, then walked us through the many available features of the site. Most of us had heard of Ravelry. Several of us were members mainly for the purpose of searching for patterns, but until this day, none of us were totally aware of all the amazing options available to us through this site. Suzanne showed us her 'page' for the inventory of her yarn stash...very impressive...both the application and the stash! She introduced us to each of the options under all the drop down windows. The mind boggles at this astounding world that has been presented to us. Thanks, Suzanne, for bringing us this treasure trove of a resource!
